Lunch with the 1st Grader

The thought having occurred to me once again (thought bubble) 'Man Xaine is sure growing up fast.. what if one day he doesn't want to spend time with me.. what if the day comes that he requests that I duck down anytime we drive past his friends' (panic attach... breathe breathe)

After Popping that horrid thought bubble, I decided to see about snagging some more quality time with my Baboo by asking if he would like me to join him for school lunch. Much to my joy he accepted.

As lunch time approached I rushed to the Golden Arches and picked up a Mighty Kids meal (after all he is a big 1st grader now) and drove to school. After acquiring my my cool visitor sticker from the front desk i traversed through the maze of corridors and entered the cafeteria. Xaine's class had yet to be released for lunch so i took a seat and waited. I felt like the stinky kid as school as everyone around me soon moved away leaving me alone. (as if that were not enough I had this kid across from me STARING )

Thank goodness the doors opened and in came Xaine. He had a huge grin on his face as he speed walked (no running) over to the table. Not sure if the smile was for me or the fact that he was about to eat: golden nuggets with ranch dip, fries and chocolate milk.

We talked about his day, giggled and even wore the Mighty Kids box as a Viking helmet (yes, i wore it too.. figure if that kid was going to stare I'd give him something to really stare at)

Time sped by and soon Ms. Tinc was rounding up the kids. With a BIG hug I sent him to join his class. (time for me to head home and play with this 2 headed blue dragon toy that came in his meal) :P
