A Slobbery Solution

Every parent would have to agree that while our children are our lives, there are those instances when we all could use just a smidgeon of adult time. What could I propose to keep Xaine busy without simply plopping him in front of the boob tube? Think, think, think… I’ve got it. Xainer, try to lick your elbow. (Internal dialog “Great idea Ry, that is sure to keep him busy). Task delivered, Xaine raises his elbow upwards toward his outward stretched tongue (didn’t get it that way), then an attempt from the top (nope, no luck that time either). Now with a momentary pause and a look of deep concentration , Xaine peers at his right elbow, then shifts his gaze to his left hand and what do I proceed to observe? With his saliva drenched tongue he licks his hand and rubs his elbow. “All done Dadoo, I licked my elbow”. Well what can I say, sharp kid and that had to be most rewarding 32.6 seconds of adult time I’ve had in a very long time.
